This project for the building owners of 11 Mounts Bay Road included the refurbishment of the ground floor lobby, the complete demolition and renovation of bathrooms on all five levels, new front of house bathrooms, and the creation of a new end-of-trip facility that involved increasing the area of the ground floor to include bike storage, showers and change rooms.
The building was fully occupied during the works. This required Aurora to complete the on-floor bathrooms in a staged manner with significant out of hours works so the tenant could still continue to operate. Ensuring the tenant safety and enabling them to go about their day-to-day business was paramount. Planning and communication was key to the success of the project. The end of trip extension was built in an area where over one million commuters pass the work area per year. Planning, strict OH&S compliance, and public safety were all items that Aurora addressed and ensured a successful completion.
